It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Hugh Rowland Gray aka Bob, a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather and an old-school country gentleman.
Born in Spurstow, Cheshire, Robert dedicated his life to his family, his land and his animals. A farmer and estate owner, he took great pride in his work, always tending to his animals with the utmost care - over the years, these included horses, ponies, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, cats and his beloved dogs. His hands were never idle, forever fixing, building and improving everything around him.
A man of deep kindness, generosity, and charity, Robert always put others before himself. His unwavering support for his six children and multiple grandchildren will never be forgotten. He found great joy in family trips to Wales, where his love for the countryside and simple pleasures in life shone through.
Robert had a deep appreciation for country music and was a skilled harmonica player, filling his home the melodies that reflected his warm spirit. His presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Caroline, his children, grandchildren and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, dedication and kindness will live on in their hearts forever.
A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at Vale Royal Crematorium on Wednesday 9th April 2025 at 11.00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the RSPCA in his memory and can be made via the Funeral Director.
